Far future. Humanity is long-extinct. Its place was taken by many new races that came from other galaxies or evolved from species living in the solar system. Peace in the system is held by the Galactic Council of Elders, its goal is keeping balance among races. But each race secretly looks for new technology that will lead it to gain ultimate control over the Universe.

Suddenly, one day on radars appears a huge, devastated spaceship with name "Andromeda" on its hull. It seems that Andromeda is an abandoned wreck of a spaceship from an ancient race. All inhabitants of the system know that the Ancients had a great technology, and everybody wants to grab it for themselves. The Galactic Council has granted permission for exploration to a team composed of scientists from different races, but while they'll all go there together, there won't be too much co-operation between them, each race has its own interests and goals...

Andromeda is a board game with an interesting action selection system based on the "I split, you choose" idea. Player rolls dices and split them on two groups, but another player choses which group will be assigned to which action.
